The main objective of the foundation is to prevent and solve cases of international child abduction. The core value around which the foundation centres its actions is to protect the best interest of the child in the first place. Improving knowledge provisions, safeguarding the rights of the parents, and improving the handling of ICA cases are all elements of protecting the best interest of the child. However, those elements are secondary to the foundation in comparison to securing the well-being of the child.

In order to achieve its objectives, the foundation carries out the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Conducting academic research and improving knowledge provisions;
  • Raising awareness and informing the public;
  • Advising institutions and offering recommendations to decision makers;
  • Supporting related initiatives with similar goals.
